HPBS Team at COP28 in Dubai

In November 2023, partners from HPBS attended the 28th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP28) in Dubai.

COP28 is the world's premier climate summit, held under the auspices of the United Nations.

COP28 in Dubai, UAE, set a record compared to previous years with around 84,000 registered participants, including 3,000 virtual attendees. This made it the largest UN climate summit ever held.

Representing the Uzbekistan office of HPBS, Anna Zavaleeva, the Director of HPBS in Uzbekistan, shared a report on managing climate risks through the creation of a comprehensive ecosystem.

Uzbekistan faces challenges in managing climate risks, impacting major sectors such as energy, industry, agriculture, and cities.

Climate change is a global problem, and solving it won't be simple. Addressing such an issue requires a comprehensive, systematic approach. It is necessary to create an ecosystem for accounting, monitoring, and combating climate change.

The Russian office was represented by Ilya Zavaleev, while Marina Kupriyanova represented the European office.
